Le Surréalisme en Suisse

Serge Brignoni

Aargauer Kunsthaus, Aarau, Switzerland

In a time of political tensions, the Surrealist artists rejected authority by a free expression of their fantasies, visions and fear. This exhibition raises the question of the existence of surrealism in Switzerland and presents works by 60 artists. Surrealism Switzerland shows both the pionneering achievements of Swiss artist in Paris (Alberto Giacometti, Meret Oppenheim) as well as the Surrealist trends that further developed in Switzerland between the 1930s and the 1950s.

The gallery lends two works of Serge Brignoni, Untitled, date unknown, and Untitled (Sky blue green) from 1932.
