(…) Evi Keller shares with the most rigorous adventurers of the spaces that border the confines of our usual world – with mystics, visionary poets, ecstatic painters-colorists, or musicians in tune with the living hum of the stars : a tireless fidelity to an original impulse. Far from weakening, it is, on the contrary, relaunched incessantly over the course of the work, as years and mutations go by.

Here’s a blue background – the incandescent blue of who knows what palace of gems, what glittering cave – where ten, a hundred, a thousand white ramifications knotted and intertwined. Intricacy, voids, fullness : intuition of the substantial being of matter, with its chemical bonds, its variable densities. Intuition of the intimate consistency of things, animate or not. Elsewhere, the celestial, mineral ecstasy of the blues is replaced by the enveloping, hot, even burning wave of stone and earth, where the fire of the depth’s smolders, blossoms and works (as the blacksmith works in his workshop) : biting, bloody sun, eruption. A moving testimony, an art capture and liberates luminous dazzle. “Moving”, because we have intimate, inextirpable conviction : beyond the enchanting festivities of the eye, beyond the dance of colors and the music of flashes, an announcement is being made. Something is being said – in the language of that which cannot be said in language. Something is enunciated – in what cannot be reduced to the prosaism of a statement.
