Of all places for creating artwork, the Artist Studio is the true center of creation. The work is both accomplished and exhibited. It can be a place of celebration, but above all it is a private and confidential place, where the artist’s imagination dwells.
The Courbet Museum’s summer exhibition showcases a unique opportunity to enter the exceptionnal universe of the Artist Studio, thereby paying tribute to the photographer Vincent Knapp in celebration of the 10th anniversary of his death.
The serie of photogaphs by Vincent Knapp gives us insight into the intimite spaces of creation of the major artists of the 20th and 21st centuries, such as César, Pierre Soulages, Zao Wou-Ki, Olivier Debré, Michel Seuphor, Maria Helena Vieira da Silva, Aurélie Nemours or Pierre Alechinsky…
