December 14, 2023, 6 pm, at the ChigianArtCafè, Sienna

With extraordinary and truly unique photographs by Alessandro Griccioli, this book documents the creation and realisation of the monumental work ‘Résonances’ inspired by the “Site transitoire”.

The photographs are accompanied by a poetic text by Antonio Prete and a dedication by Tahar Ben Jelloun to Jean-Paul Philippe on the occasion of his visit to the “Enchan-Temps: Inhabiting the Earth – Intimate Archaeology” exhibition at the Jeanne Bucher Jaeger Gallery (February-July 2023).

A book full of poetry that Alessandra Rey wanted to create to pay tribute to Jean-Paul Philippe on the 30th anniversary of the sculpture “Site transitoire”.

Alessandra Rey’s interviews with Alessandro Griccioli and Jean-Paul Philippe unveil the background of a photographic work carried out in the silence and intimacy of a solitary artist’s atelier, up to the great spaces of the travertine quarries. They also recount the precious relationship between writing, engraving and poetry very often present in the sculptor’s works. The book is dedicated to the poet Bernard Noël.

After the presentation, Jean-Paul Philippe will sign a limited and numbered copy with a print.
