Hungarian, born a woman under the name Anna Primmer, he (or she), whom Picasso nicknamed “Monsieur Madame”, took on a male identity when he settled in Paris at the age of 25. He turned toward sculpture at the end of the 1930s. His work took on a particular quality, inspired by Egyptian art. Close with Árpád Szenes, Hayter and Vieira da Silva, his sculptures and drawings were exhibited at the boulevard du Montparnasse in November 1942.
