Two Picasso exhibitions were organized following the opening of the gallery. His major presentation took place in 1966, a preview of the large Picasso retrospective in Paris. The gallery showed eight masterworks from the Beyeler collection from 1907 to 1963, and then, an exhibition entitled “Picasso et le béton”, in order to attract the attention of elected officials on the absence of a monumental installation of the artist in Parisian public spaces.
