Still lives, battles of homunculi in the sun, resuscitated cities and mosaics of different hues, all of which comprise the universe of Vera Pagava, were shown at the gallery between 1944 (in dialogue with Dora Maar) and 1960. Her last exhibition in February 1960 closed the cycle of exhibitions at 9ter boulevard du Montparnasse.
A solo exhibition by the artist entitled “Vera Pagava, Lumières de la nuit” (Vera Pagava, Lights of the Night) is on show from July 4 to November 23, 2025 at the Musée de Gajac in Villeneuve-sur-Lot. Bringing together some 50 works, from the 1930s to the 1980s, the exhibition invites visitors to explore the night as a space of light, silence and the unspeakable.
