Piet Mondrian’s works were presented in 1928, alongside the drawings of his compatriot Eekman. The show was an important step in the gallery’s early days. Controversial, it demonstrated Jeanne Bucher’s stubbornness and her willingness to promote artists outside of current trends: “I just finished my exhibition, during which I was subjected to various attacks, for example over the fact that I was leading the public astray in showing such a trend.”
