The Genki-nobori are taking over the main courtyard of the Hôtel de la Marine. Conceived by Japanese artist Susumu Shingu in the aftermath of the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami, these creations reinterpret the traditional Japanese carp-shaped windsocks. On the white fabric of these long banners are inscribed drawings and, at times, words, messages of hope entrusted to the wind.
With the support of the Galerie Jeanne Bucher Jaeger, La Source Garouste developed this initiative as part of its 2026 multi-site project. Between February and May 2026, around one hundred children facing social, educational, or family challenges took part in workshops organized by La Source Garouste and created 100 Genki-nobori. 

These Genki-nobori will be exhibited:
– From June 6 to 20, 2026, in Ducontenia Park, Saint-Jean-de-Luz
– From June 24 to August 24, 2026, at the Hôtel de la Marine, Paris
– From September 3 to 30, 2026, at Château La Coste, near Aix-en-Provence
– From October 10 to 25, 2026, at Domaine de Villarceaux, in the Vexin region
– From October 10 to November 10, 2026, in the Bec de la Vallée cove in Dinard, on the occasion of the start of the Route du Rhum transatlantic race.
