Le cheval de Troie, a surrealist masterwork of substantial dimensions (118 × 159 cm) created by Vulliamy, was presented for the first time in France by Jeanne Bucher in May 1943 in defiance of the Occupying Forces that considered this art as “degenerate”. In 1948, Jean-François Jaeger exhibited his more recent paintings, marked by Lyrical Abstraction. In 1950, his ceramics and sculptures created from fragments picked up on beaches were exhibited at the boulevard du Montparnasse.
