The Letters to Paul Klee, 25 paintings on Japanese paper, exhibited at the gallery in 2005, are addressed to his mentor, who conciled all his life his talents for painting and music. Born in Moscow, Felix Rozen studied at the Fine Arts School in Warsaw before moving to Paris in 1966. The invention of his painting technique called “pyrocera” at the beginning of the 1990s resulted from his artistic experiences developed at the IRCAM, in San Diego, and in Japan. It participated in constant dialogues between music and painting, in which are confronted, according to Jacques Lacarrière, “two indivisible worlds based in tormented tenderness, a low laugh and a lucid passion.”
